Viking Invasion Readiness Day

At Your House – Insert your own address here.
Are you prepared for when bacon-hungry Icelandic Vikings land on Iowa shores late Thursday night? First, buy some Farmland bacon at your local grocery store. Then, while eating your bacon, share your Viking readiness plan on the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival Facebook wall. Things to consider when preparing your plan:

  • Blend In – If you look like a Viking, the vicious Icelanders may mistake you for one of their own allowing you to escape falling victim to bacon thievery. So, put on a helmet, carry a sledgehammer…and hide your bacon.

  • Sacrificial Bacon – It’s always good luck to provide a sacrifice in the name of Odin. So, fry up some bacon and put it out on your front step. Keep in mind, Nordic Gods are known for disguising themselves as raccoons.
  • Thursday, February 7th
