Upon hearing the news Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival’s President, Brooks Reynolds responded, “We’re honored and humbled to be recognized as Iowa’s top food festival. Our wacky celebration would still be held at a little family cottage in Spirit Lake if it weren’t for the support of the City of Des Moines, our dedicated sponsors, food vendors, bacon purveyors and bacon-lovers. And, of course, let’s not forget to thank our farmers and livestock producers. They are at the root of what makes our state taste so great!”
The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is regularly held each year in the month of February. Organizers plan to announce the official date for the festival’s much anticipated 10th Anniversary Celebration next week.
