The Iowa Bacon Board, organizers of the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, officially announced that the 10th Annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival will return to the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa on February 18, 2017.
Recently recognized by National Geographic’s Traveler Magazine as “Iowa’s Best Food Festival”, the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival plans to again take over ALL FOUR LEVELS of Hy-Vee Hall and Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. The one-day “bacon happening” consistently attracts bacon-loving participants from around the world. Brooks Reynolds, Chair of the Iowa Bacon Board and festival co-founder, explained, “We’re honored to have reached this decade long milestone in our rich history of promoting international bacon fellowship. And, we can’t wait to celebrate it with thousands of our bacon-loving friends!”
When asked about how participants might prepare for 2017’s theme, Brooks Reynolds responded, “This year, we plan to release the theme and ticket sales information right after Halloween, so our more extreme bacon-lovers can acquire new costumes at clearing rack prices or have time to retool existing bacony getups. OHHHH, BACON!”
